Hong Kong Picnic

I particularly like this image because it demonstrates the great divide between old and new beliefs and values. The elderly lady is in wonderment of the young lad listening to his MP3 player whilst multitasking on his mobile phone. She must be wondering what on earth is going on in his head whilst attached to all that electronic gear. But this is not the only story going on here. The young lad is a patron of the coffee house, yet the three elders are in fact trespassing.
Not that they’d intend to offend anyone, but I’m going to assume that they are mainland Chinese who have travelled into the big city for a spot of shopping. They’ve brought their own lunch, kept warm in flasks, as you’d expect from this generation. Need somewhere to sit while enjoying your picnic in the big smoke? – why not pull up three chairs and a table at a coffee house on Des Voeux Road, Hong Kong and enjoy your home cooked meal!
